At Hello Neighbour, we’re focused on making renting easier and fairer for both landlords and tenants. Today, we’re releasing Version 2.1 of our lettings platform.
This latest version introduces a series of upgrades designed to help landlords make better decisions, reduce risk and save time.
As the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Act approaches, and thousands of landlords continue to use our platform, we’re accelerating the pace of product development and communication. We believe technology should actively improve how lettings work — not simply digitise outdated processes.
Version 2.1 brings together a set of enhancements focused on three areas that matter most to landlords today:
understanding prospective tenants more clearly
embedding compliance directly into the letting journey
strengthening protection against fraud
Together, these updates are designed to support better decision-making at every stage of the let.
A key addition in Version 2.1 is our new Tenant Summary view, which brings together the information and interactions generated as a tenant moves through the platform.
Pre-qualification responses such as income and employment, in-platform conversations, and key activity relating to viewings, offers and pre-tenancy set-up are all captured in a single, structured view.
This consolidated overview helps landlords decide more confidently who should view a property and who is best placed to move in — an increasingly important judgement in a post-Section 21 environment.
Alongside this, we’ve partnered with Trust ID to embed identity verification directly into the onboarding process.
By making robust ID checks a standard part of the letting journey, we’re helping to prevent fraud before it becomes a problem, rather than trying to resolve issues later.
We’ve also further prepared the platform for the practical requirements of the Renters’ Rights Act, with compliance steps built directly into the flow of the letting process itself.
Landlords have access to clear information on upcoming regulatory changes, and to help prevent accidental non-compliance, a let can’t progress unless the necessary checks and documentation are in place.
This reflects our wider approach: using technology to keep landlords safe.
Richard Jenkins, Co-founder and CEO of Hello Neighbour, said: "As regulation tightens and technology improves, we have an opportunity to rethink how lettings work. Version 2.1 is about using data, automation and integration to help landlords make better decisions, reduce risk and save time, and it is part of how we continue to change lettings for good by replacing outdated processes with systems designed for the market as it now exists.”
We’ll continue to release regular platform updates as part of our ongoing programme of innovation, with Version 2.2 expected to complete full Renters’ Rights readiness later this year.
